This meme was made to accompany the media monitoring highlight we found in Hungary for February 2019. When a public service media channel airs interviews without proper fact-checking, this is a serious problem.
This meme was inspired by our Greek Media Monitoring Highlight from August. Ethical standards are an important part of journalism, and publishing unverifiable storues on your cover is probably not the best way to go around proving your paper is up to standards.
Zombies, ghouls, and vampires are scary, but the scariest monsters are the ones that cause real damage. Our Halloween card reminds us of that!
Every Christmas trolls try to make Muslims into the Grinches of today. Everything is part of a "war on Christmas", be it red coffee cups or cards that read "Happy festive season". The inability of some people to understand that they are not attacked by the fact that other people don't celebrate their holidays was worth memefying.
Often in our work, we’ll run into people who will complain that we are “against free speech” – and that therefore we should shut up. We find it curious that they don’t see the inconsistency in their claims. It is almost as if their desire to protect free speech is more of a desire to be allowed to say whatever they want and not be challenged on it.
